With No Season 2 News, Netflix’s Delicious Time Travel Fantasy Risks Falling Out of the Top 10 Charts

It’s been over a week since the Season 1 finale of Bon Appétit, Your Majesty aired on Netflix. The series has captured the audience through its historical drama narrative, which combines time travel with a cooking competition twist. While the South Korean series continues to dominate the Netflix charts for seven weeks in a row, it’s now at risk of losing its spot, as there is no news on whether the show will continue for a second season.

Bon Appétit, Your Majesty ranks #10 on Netflix’s Top 10 TV Shows worldwide as of October 8, 2025, just below Billionaires’ Bunker. It continues to hold its spot in the October 9th rankings, but it’s no secret that the fantasy drama is losing its place. During the week of the finale, Bon Appétit, Your Majesty drew low viewership on Netflix Top 10 Non-English Shows overview, with only 6 million views, a decrease of 500,000 from the previous week. It also didn’t help that Alice in Borderlands Season 3 debuted during the week of the finale, and Billionaire’s Bunker started to gain traction since its release on September 19. Currently, the show now sits at #3, only having generated 4.9 million views.

Bon Appétit, Your Majesty stars Im Yoon-ah as Yeon Ji-yeong, a French cuisine chef who was transported to the Joseon period and becomes the Royal Chef for Yi Heon. Played by Lee Chae-min, Yi Heon is the current King of Joseon and is seen as a tyrant. However, he has a strong interest in food and has ordered Ji-yeong to cook him unique meals each day or be put to death.

Will ‘Bon Appétit, Your Majesty’ Get a Season 2?

What made Bon Appétit, Your Majesty a compelling show was how it was able to showcase modern dishes by using traditional cooking methods without the use of electricity. Additionally, the setting felt reminiscent of cooking shows, like Culinary Class Wars, as the series constantly puts Chef Ji-yeong in various challenges against other cooks, where her life is on the line. And as expected in many K-dramas, the slow romance between the two main characters from different time periods has also caught the attention of audiences.

While Season 1 ended on a positive note, fans wondered if the show was to continue. According to ABS-CBN, Im Yoon-ah revealed that she hasn’t heard anything about a second season, but if it does happen, she’d be happy to reunite with her co-stars. However, she said that she’s satisfied with how Season 1 ended, describing it as “beautiful” and that it was the “ending everyone dreams of.”
